Job Description - Senior Electrical Engineer

Position Overview:
At Bose Professional, we create products that help people feel more, do more, and be more. This involves the creation of sound systems in Restaurants, Retail Stores, and Houses of Worship that use music to bring people together and share common experiences in world-wide markets. Bose Professional is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to help us define, design, and support our line of power amplifiers and other installed audio electronics.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will work closely across the engineering community, product line management, and global design partners in New Product Development activities.
The experienced engineer will help in all phases of New Product Development including creating technical proposals, aiding in product definition, product architecture, designing Professional audio products, prototype evaluation and testing, and helping with sustaining engineering activities.
The ideal candidate will be experienced and technically skilled with Pro Audio product development and around electronic technologies such as power electronics, mixed signal electronics, high speed PCB design, EMC design, and quality issue analysis.
Support Company objectives by completing additional tasks as needed

Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will have 7+ years in the following areas:

Working in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary design team, where mentorship and group design reviews are encouraged.
Design, simulation, and performance evaluation for Switching Power Supplies and Class-D Audio Amplifiers.
Design and simulation experience for audio equipment comprised of analog audio front ends, analog to digital/digital to analog converters, digital signal processors (DSPs), embedded microcontrollers and application processors.
Design experience in schematic capture and printed circuit board layout (Altium preferred).
Practical knowledge of signal and power integrity to aid the design, test, and debug of high speed PCBAs.
Familiarity designing with SoMs, and a strong preference for experience designing SoMs or implementing chip on board designs of application processors and DSPs.
Experience debugging embedded communication protocols (examples – I2S/TDM, I2C, SPI, UART, etc.).
Experience developing 802.3 networked audio systems (examples – Dante, AES67/70, AVB/TSN, etc.).
Experience developing products with wireless audio and data networking technologies (examples – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc.).
Electromagnetic analysis, design, and troubleshooting.
Strong familiarity with product development processes, specifications, and test plans.
Carry out detailed design verification plans, producing requisite reports and documentation.
Strong design review practices of all design artifacts including schematics, layout, component derating, and BOM.
Detailed knowledge of professional and consumer audio signal standards and connection interfaces (examples – SPDIF, Line/Mic/Instrument Level, HDMI, USB Audio, AES/EBU, AES67, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of audio performance specifications, their implications on system performance, and how to measure these parameters.
Failure analysis for high power electronics and 8D.
Demonstrated use of electronics lab equipment in conducting the above activities.
