Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nEaton Corporation\u2019s Mission System Division of Eaton Aerospace, has an opening for a senior Electrical Engineer. The position is based in Davenport, IA.\n\nThe Davenport facility has approximately 900 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace life support and safety systems components and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. \n\nThis position is responsible for design and certification of electrical components part of Aerospace systems. The individual will be responsible for leading electrical/electronic activities for new product development including, analyzing requirements and assessing compliance, defining interfaces, reviewing component spec and de-rating, designing PCB/PWB, writing test and qualification plans, managing product design full life cycle management and providing technical expertise and guidance to team members and mentoring new engineers. Additionally the individual will be responsible for supporting operation and field service teams with analysis and troubleshooting of legacy products. \n\nA successful candidate will need knowledge and have prior experience of Aerospace product development process at system and subsystem levels. \n\n\u2022 Lead small to medium integrated product development teams and projects through full life cycle management. \n\u2022 Design and analyze complex electrical \u0026 electromechanical assemblies for our oxygen and nitrogen product lines. \n\u2022 Design and test mixed signal PCB\u2019s (Analog and Digital) \n\u2022 Develop test protocols and write test reports \n\u2022 Have experience with EMI/EMC and various electrical testing \n\u2022 Have experience with Different communication protocols. \n\u2022 DO-178\u0026 DO-254 working experience \n\u2022 Capable of interpreting specifications and drawings \n\u2022 Responsible for in house as well as off-site qualification test programs \n\u2022 Work closely with suppliers on component and sub-system development \n\u2022 Interface with customers as part of development-team programs \n\u2022 Provide innovative ideas for improvements to existing products \n\u2022 Participate in ideation for new products and technologies \n\u2022 Provide technical expertise to support Manufacturing, Field Support Engineers, and customers \n\u2022 Evaluate suitability of current products for new applications; work with team to develop bids and proposals for new, modified or upgraded products \n\u2022 Must maintain an attitude supportive of continuous improvement, teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. \nMinimum of 3 of years of professional experience with electrical hardware and electronics design. \nEaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Eaton\u0027s Facility in Davenport, IA.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nMaster\u2019s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited program. \n5+ years of Electrical Engineering experience. \nDesire to become expert level in modeling software. \nExperience with Matlab/Simulink. \nExperience in writing test plans, procedures, and reports. \nAbility to multi-task and establish priorities in a rapidly changing environment. \nCreativity, initiative, and self-starter desired. \nStrong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation. \nLeadership skills with strong customer presence. \nStructured and systematic problem solving techniques and DFSS. \nFailure analysis and prediction techniques a plus. \nAbility to demonstrate analytical problem solving\n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria:\n\nExperience with analysis, problem solving, and conducting root-cause/corrective action analyses \nExperience writing technical reports \nExperience with Microsoft Office products like Excel, Word, and Powerpoint \nElectrical Engineering theory and its application \nExperience with OrCAD or similar PCB design software \nAttention to detail. \nAbility to learn and apply new concepts. \nAbility to learn and adapt to new software. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \nFast-thinker and problem solver. \nKnowledge of basic Microsoft and Microsoft Office applications.\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
