Senior Electrical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team in New Jersey. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial, industrial, institutional, and/or residential electrical construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, labor requirements, and applicable codes, along with the ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems and equipment.
• Prepare accurate material, labor, subcontractor, and equipment cost estimates.
• Develop complete and competitive bids for electrical construction projects.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations.
• Prepare bid summaries and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and potential risks.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits when required.
• Review project plans for constructability, conflicts, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain estimating databases, labor rates, material pricing, and historical project costs.
• Prepare change-order and value-engineering estimates as needed.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within established bid deadlines.
• Assist with negotiations and turnover of awarded projects to the project management team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating, electrical contracting, or related construction experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial and/or industrial electrical construction.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, one-line diagrams, specifications, and schedules.
• Knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, installation methods, and labor requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with estimating software such as **Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, Blue
