Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Electrical Estimator for a commercial electrical contracting company in Hampstead, Maryland.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on commercial electrical estimating experience, including estimating complex or large-scale electrical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids for commercial electrical projects.


• Review electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and bid documents.


• Perform material and labor quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.


• Analyze labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs.


• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, exclusions, and project risks.


• Develop pricing and support final bid submissions.


• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams.


• Maintain accurate estimating documentation.


• Ensure estimates comply with NEC and applicable electrical requirements.


• Manage multiple estimates while meeting deadlines.


• Provide guidance or mentorship to junior estimators when required.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience.


• Strong commercial electrical construction estimating background.


• Experience estimating large-scale or complex commercial projects.


• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and NEC.


• Experience with fire alarm systems.


• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.


• Experience with electrical estimating software.


• Strong Excel/Microsoft Office skills.


• Strong cost analysis and bid preparation experience.


• Ability to identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and discrepancies
