Senior Electronic Technician

Avarint is seeking a Senior Electronic Technician to support an experimental team conducting Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) at Dugway Proving Ground, UT. Primary duties will include:

· Operating, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electronic test equipment and instrumentation being used in the laboratories and in field testing. 

· Reviewing technical requirements, preparing technical approaches, and providing technical expertise in the design and fabrication of electrical systems being incorporated into laboratory RDT&E programs.

· Developing, improving, and building mechanical and electrical systems designed to monitor and control experimental parameters including flow, temperature, and relative humidity, and the associated data collection and acquisition systems.

· Reviewing and continuously improving the QA/QC program to ensure that all reported data is accurate, complete, reliable and of high-confidence.

· Maintaining a safe laboratory work environment in accordance with all documented laboratory procedures.

The position also requires that the selected candidate possesses:  

· Strong hands-on skills with operation, calibration, maintenance and repair of electronic instrumentation and equipment.

· Extensive knowledge in control circuitry, circuit analysis, electronic calculations, circuit design, and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.

· Knowledge and familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or 170125 standards for instrument calibration.

· Excellent organizational skills and communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to appropriately communicate with colleagues, management and clients to plan and execute duties.

· Deep attention to detail and the flexibility and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 Minimum Qualifications:

· A.A.S. in Electronics, Electrical Technology or other related discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Experience with Microsoft Office software including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

· Experience with data acquisition software systems such as LabVIEW. 

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS ARE DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

· An active DoD security clearance (S or TS).

· Experience in contract research, working for the federal government and/or private organizations.

Special Requirements:  

Must be able to obtain and remain eligible for a US Department of Defense security clearance during the course of employment.  Candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
