As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. \n \n\u2022 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Master\u0027s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. \n\n\u2022 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience. \n\n\u2022 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with leadership.\n\n\u2022 Experience in QEMU development, especially the VirtIO subsystems a plus, and/or experience with SystemC.\n\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n\u2022 Leverages advanced Software Application knowledge to provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, customer training, product demonstrations, commercialization, customization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products.\n\n\u2022 Collaborates with cross-functional teams and customer personnel to identify customer problems, debug complex issues in customer design software systems, and recommend innovative solutions.\n\n\u2022 Drives system architecture and feature-specific customizations tailored for customer requirements from proof of concept to final product commercial launches.\n\n\u2022 Assesses potential application of company products, prepares detailed product specifications, disseminates technical information on specific software areas, and/or troubleshoots complex issues regarding software tools and products. \n\n\u2022 Writes detailed and complex product technical documentation, application notes, and FAQs.\n\nLevel of Responsibility:\n\n\u2022 Works independently with minimal supervision.\n\n\u2022 Provides supervision/guidance to other team members. \n\n\u2022 Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.\n\n\u2022 Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.\n\n\u2022 Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).\n\n\u2022 Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.\n\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
