Senior Engineer, Automation Belvidere, NJ Onsite As a Senior Engineer in Automation, you will be responsible for hands-on Automation & Controls supporting a live health and nutrition manufacturing plant, focused on troubleshooting, reliability, and small-to-medium automation improvements. The engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering to improve control system performance & sustainability. At dsm-firmenich people are at the heart of the company. Key Responsibilities: Support plant operations by troubleshooting automation, instrumentation, and control issues. Own small-to-medium automation improvements from concept through implementation. Improve reliability, standardization, and documentation of control systems. Work closely with process engineers, maintenance, IT/OT, and operators. Reduce reliance on external contractors by building in-house capability. Other duties assigned by Belvidere leadership. You Bring: Bachelor's degree in chemical, industrial, mechanical engineering (or related technical discipline) required. 4-8 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering. Strong PLC and/or DCS experience (Emerson DeltaV experience is a plus, but not required) Comfortable troubleshooting live production systems under real-world constraints Background in batch or continuous process manufacturing (pharma, chemicals, food, or similar regulated environments preferred) The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $87,100 - $160,900.
