Overview of the Role

Join a leading energy company's Engineering & Construction Business Unit as a Senior Engineer specializing in substation projects. In this pivotal role, you'll manage critical infrastructure projects from conception through construction and commissioning, ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead substation projects from early-stage development through execution and commissioning

• Provide technical oversight and training to external engineers of record (EOR)

• Develop scopes of work and secure engineering consulting resources through approved suppliers

• Coordinate with stakeholders to develop substation sites and secure necessary permits

• Source and select geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services

• Represent engineering interests in management meetings and presentations

• Review interconnection documentation and ensure compliance with ISO requirements

• Manage long-lead material orders to minimize delays and budget overruns

• Support commissioning activities and collaborate with OEMs on design enhancements

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering preferred

• 5+ years of experience in high voltage substation design and engineering

• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience

• Strong bias for action and ability to meet deadlines

• Knowledge of IEEE, NESC, ASCE, and industry codes/standards

• PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus

• Willingness to travel within North America
