Job Description - Senior Engineering Product Champion

Job Description Summary

The Solutioning & Execution (S&E) CoE is the Global Thread team inside Proposals and Projects Engineering (PPE) and is pivotal in driving bid, sell, and execute standards for HDNU ITR projects. This role will be a staff position that works alongside the S&E teams and various other Engineering teams and functions outside Gas Power Engineering.
The Product Champion will own the product readiness for bidding, selling and executing; ensuring it is optimized for HDNU projects to achieve the best business outcomes for SQDC priorities. This role involves driving bid, sell, and execute standards in collaboration with cross-functional teams, supporting long-range forecast strategy, and developing a multi-year roadmap for the owned product. This role will also champion standardization efforts, lead ITR processes, and drive Hoshin initiatives in Engineering to ensure successful project execution.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Readiness: Ensure products are ready for smoother ITR bid sell execution. Maintain product quality, delivery and cost parameters. Products will include but not limited to: 7F, 7HA, 6F.03 and 7E.03
  • Product Structuring Strategy: Maximize direct releases and associated KPIs. Own critical work to maintain the product like MF governance, GBOM maintenance.
  • Support Long-Range Forecast (LRF) Strategy: Drive initiatives to meet 2030 targets.
  • Lead Hoshin Efforts: Collaborate with teams to implement Hoshin planning.
  • Institute Bid, Sell, Execute Standards Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for HDNU products and projects.
  • Standardization Opportunities: Identify and lead efforts to standardize processes.
  • Challenge Status Quo: Continuously seek more productive ways to operate and eliminate process waste.
  • Collaborative Work: Partner with Sales, Commercial Operations, Product Line, Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, and Project Management Office to build solutions.
  • GE Vernova Way Principles: Incorporate Innovation, Customers, Lean, One Team, and Accountability in work practices.
  • Lean Principles: Champion and embed Lean principles such as PSR, process maturity models, and Kaizens to improve KPIs.
  • Global Initiatives: Support global initiatives from concept phase through implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of KPIs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 12+ years of total experience in relevant Power Industry including 4+ years of plant or systems engineering
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 15% or less).

  • Product Knowledge: Gas turbine, generator, steam turbine, HRSG product line knowledge; plant systems level knowledge.

  • Mentoring and Coaching: Ability to mentor and coach a global team.
  • Enterprise-Level Strategy and Execution: Drive ITR processes and continuous improvements globally.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Self-Starter: Energetic, positive attitude, and a legacy of delivering on commitments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Mindset focused on identifying, influencing, and implementing better ways to perform activities or processes.
  • Dynamic Environment: Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of organizations.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
