A leading technology organization is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist to support the design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic, mechanical, and software systems.
This role works closely with development engineers to support product development, resolve technical issues, and ensure systems meet performance and quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise along with the ability to manage complex tasks and contribute to process improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support design, documentation, requirements management, integration, and testing of systems and products
Collaborate with engineering teams to identify issues and recommend solutions
Manage complex projects or processes with general oversight
Communicate across teams to ensure alignment on processes and procedures
Perform engineering tests, experimental testing, and fault isolation
Conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on equipment and systems
Execute subsystem and system-level verification and validation testing
Assemble, calibrate, repair, and operate equipment using technical documentation and schematics
Utilize diagnostic tools and test equipment for system validation
Identify, track, and resolve hardware defects
Build and repair cables, radios, and related hardware components
Track and manage development assets
Support field testing and related activities
Maintain accurate documentation, including test results and system updates
Support configuration management processes and system entries
Assist with procurement of components and materials as needed
Escalate critical issues to appropriate leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or
Graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
10 or more years of related experience in lieu of a degree
Strong knowledge of engineering processes and project execution
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and voltmeters
Experience with surface mount technology assembly and repair
Basic understanding of RF circuits and software-defined radio architectures
Experience with RF communication systems, including ASICs, PLLs, DACs, amplifiers, and power supply circuits
Familiarity with configuration management systems such as Agile
Experience writing failure analysis reports and technical documentation
Experience managing calibration or electronics lab environments
Experience purchasing parts or equipment for engineering support
Knowledge of IPC standards such as IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-7711/7721
Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to resolve technical challenges
In compliance with New York pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this position is $76,500–$141,500. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
