Vedanta Biosciences is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company developing medicines for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. The company’s lead assets include potential first-in-class oral therapies, VE303, in a Phase 3 trial for recurrent C. difficile infection, and VE202, in a Phase 2 trial for ulcerative colitis. Vedanta’s pipeline has been built using the company’s industry-leading product engine for the development of therapies based on defined consortia of bacteria grown from pure clonal cell banks. The product engine, supported by foundational IP, includes one of the largest libraries of bacteria isolated from the human microbiome, vast clinical datasets, proprietary capabilities in consortium design, and end-to-end CGMP manufacturing capabilities at commercial launch scale.


The Role:


The Facilities Specialist is a key role responsible for managing a wide range of companywide activities related to asset and building maintenance.  This individual will coordinate closely with internal stakeholders, building management teams, and external vendors to ensure seamless operations. As the department administrator, the Facilities Specialist will be responsible for generating, tracking, and filing all work orders, scheduling vendors, purchasing spare parts, issuing purchase orders, and gathering annual maintenance agreements, among other critical tasks.


Here’s What You’ll Do:



  • Maintain day-to-day operations for lab, office, and manufacturing spaces in two locations, including responding to building- and company-generated alarms.

  • Inspect and document condition of all existing operations, housekeeping, and life safety systems to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal agencies.

  • Perform routine inspections of mechanical spaces to identify and address equipment wear, leaks, or other potential issues.

  • Maintain contracts for services such as cleaning, calibration, and maintenance.

  • Coordinate and oversee vendor and contractors visits for routine maintenance, repairs, and building modifications.

  • Assist in coordinating Facility projects including preparing internal and external communications, preparing project documentation, and tracking action plans.

  • Develop and implement asset-specific maintenance and calibration job plans.

  • Ensure optimal equipment functionality through vendor service contracts and internal performance monitoring, serving as the primary liaison for equipment vendors and building management.

  • Complete appropriate documentation including work orders, updating SOPs, etc.


Requirements:



  • High School Diploma, Trade School certifications, or equivalent; (i.e., registered apprenticeship or registered trade license in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Pipefitter, Wastewater, Steam Engineering, Marine Engineering) and/or years of field experience in general industry will be considered.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, ideally in the life science industry.

  • Strong knowledge of general business administration practices and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, security systems, and other facilities-related practices and procedures.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems.

  • Ability to respond courteously and efficiently to inquiries, complaints, and requests.

  • Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and working in environments with loud noise (with appropriate protection).

  • Oracle and SAP experience highly preferred.
