Senior Facilities Technician

Overview
Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences is looking for a Senior Facilities Technician to join our growing Facilities Department. We are seeking a dependable individual to work full-time (37.5 hours/week) and year-round at the lab in East Boothbay, Maine. You will be responsible for oversight of repairs and maintenance of all property owned and rented by Bigelow Laboratory. Work closely with outside contractors and vendors. Perform work involving electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot facility systems and equipment as needed. The salary range for this position is $32.29-$46.82/hour.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1)    State licensed journeyman plumber.
2)    State licensed HVAC technician
3)    State licensed propane tech

5)    Valid driver's license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (listed in order of importance):
1)    General knowledge of boat operation

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position works outdoors in all weather conditions. Occasionally ascends and descends a ladder in order to perform job duties. Operates heavy machinery. Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various event needs. The person in this position will need to be part of a team responding to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
