Job Description - Senior Fastener Manufacturing Manager

YOU

As the Senior Fastener Manufacturing Manager, you will lead all screw and fastener strategic oversight across the manufacturing department. This role ensures the effective alignment of production, tooling, quality, maintenance, and safety initiatives to achieve operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include overseeing cold heading, thread rolling, secondary operations, and tooling performance; developing manufacturing strategies and leading workforce development. The role serves as a critical leader in ensuring manufacturing resources are positioned to support current production demands and future business growth.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Leadership, Talent Development & Performance Management (35%)

  • Develop leadership capability through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning initiatives, ensuring a strong pipeline of future manufacturing leaders.
  • Foster a culture of employee engagement, recognition, and continuous learning that supports talent retention, workforce development, and organizational growth.
  • Promote a high-performance environment built on teamwork, ownership, accountability, and alignment with company values and operational goals.
  • Align departmental goals and resources with production, quality, safety, customer service, and operational excellence objectives.
  • Lead change management and continuous improvement efforts that enhance employee involvement, operational performance, and overall business results.

Safety, Compliance & Workforce Management (35%)

  • Model and enforce the highest safety standards, holding leaders and employees accountable.
  • Ensure all Simpson Strong‑Tie policies, procedures, and employment practices are followed.
  • Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning, hiring strategy, and employee relations.
  • Verify proper training and safe operation of related equipment.

Production Strategy & Operational Excellence (30%)

  • Develop, oversee, and optimize short‑ and long‑term production plans to meet customer demand and business goals.
  • Partner with the Manager, Manufacturing Operations and senior leadership to drive efficiency, capacity planning, and operational improvements.
  • Proactively identify risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities using data and root cause analysis.
  • Lead cross‑department collaboration to improve workflows and communication. New Product development and CI and maintenance collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to align tooling design, repair, and replacement strategies with production schedules.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • Strong knowledge of cold forming, thread rolling, and screw manufacturing (required).  
  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience, with 3+ years in leadership or management roles.
  • Proven experience delivering on projects and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of tooling operations, tooling lifecycle management, or tooling strategy in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of production processes, quality systems, and operational metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence cross‑functional teams, and drive results.
  • Advanced problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.


Travel

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 15% of the time.


Work Status & Location

This is a full-time, exempt position in Gallatin, TN.


Relocation

Relocation is available for this position.


Pay

$93,400 - $158,800 / year
