This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Remote Assistant Controller. In this role, you will be the operational finance leader tasked with enhancing accounting operations and financial reporting processes. Your impact will be significant as you prepare financial statements, oversee the close process, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger. This position requires a forward-thinking individual who is adept at leveraging technology and automation for improved productivity and accuracy in financial reporting. Collaboration across multiple departments will be crucial to ensure data quality and efficiency in financial processes.
Accountabilities
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, including financial reporting deliverables.
- Review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and documentation for accuracy.
- Maintain rigorous balance sheet integrity through standardized reconciliation processes.
- Lead improvement initiatives in general ledger processes via automation and systems integration.
- Partner with the Controller to evolve team structures and ensure operational excellence.
- Drive modernization by reducing manual work and enhancing data accuracy through ERP tools.
- Collaborate closely with multiple departments for clean, timely financial inputs.
- Support external audits by coordinating documentation and managing requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with monthly close and reconciliations.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systems, preferably NetSuite.
- Experience improving accounting processes through automation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on execution.
