Work Schedule: 8 am – 5 pm
Work Day: Monday – Friday

Job Summary
The Financial Operations Specialist for the DoD will support critical financial and budgetary operations within the Department of Defense (DoD) or affiliated defense agencies. This role ensures the accurate and secure execution of financial transactions, compliance with federal regulations, and the safeguarding of sensitive defense-related financial data. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in defense financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee defense-related financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and funds disbursement in compliance with DoD policies.
Conduct financial audits and risk assessments to ensure the integrity and security of defense funds.
Monitor and analyze financial transactions for potential fraud, waste, or abuse, reporting discrepancies to leadership.
Collaborate with defense agencies, military branches, and government stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Maintain strict adherence to federal financial regulations, including the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
Utilize financial systems (e.g., G-Invoicing, Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS)) to process and track defense expenditures.
Support security clearance verification processes for financial operations personnel.
Prepare and present financial reports, briefings, and recommendations to senior defense officials.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in defense financial management, government accounting, or federal budget operations.
Proficiency in DoD financial systems (DEAMS, SAP, or similar).
Strong knowledge of federal fiscal law, DFARS, and the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
