Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
- Oversee and continuously improve food safety programs across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, GFSI, State, and Local regulations
- Lead verification and validation activities for food safety programs, including HACCP and Preventive Controls
- Partner with Logistics to support compliance with FSMA Sanitary Transportation
- Monitor and interpret emerging legislative changes, ensuring timely updates to company policies and procedures
- Conduct internal audits to assess compliance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions
- Partner with R&D to evaluate food safety risks associated with new ingredients, suppliers, and finished meal innovations
- Develop and deliver food safety training programs to employees at all levels, fostering a culture of food safety excellence
- Champion food safety culture initiatives, engaging leadership and frontline employees in continuous improvement efforts
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for site-level food safety teams
- Coordinate change management processes, ensuring seamless integration of new policies, procedures, and product formulations
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of Quality Management Systems (ETQ)
- Work cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and supply chain to enhance food safety initiatives
- Trend food safety data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance food safety and quality performance
- Utilize root cause analysis and risk assessments to implement proactive corrective and preventive actions
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance in a multi-site corporate role
- Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, Preventive Controls, and GFSI standards
- Proven experience in food safety program verification, validation, and internal auditing
- Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills to drive food safety culture
- Ability to analyze and interpret food safety data, identifying trends and areas for improvement
- Willingness to travel as needed to support facilities and audits
