Job Title: Senior GMP Facilities Technician 
Reports to: Vice President, Manufacturing, Facilities & Validation 
Status: Regular, Full-Time Exempt 
Location: Watertown, MA

This individual will manage all facility and equipment-related activities throughout their life cycle, ensuring that Stratus’ equipment is in compliance with FDA standards. This position is based on site in Watertown, MA with frequent travel to our Cambridge, MA facility. Flexibility and reliability are key to ensuring efficient operations. 

Specific Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the development, maintenance and operations of cleanroom facilities at Stratus 

  • Manage cleanroom vendors, equipment and IT hardware 

  • Manage lab equipment, office furniture, and appliance moves as needed in a safe and compliant manner  

  • Partner with Cleanroom Landlord (Landmark) for facilities and equipment-related issues to maintain GMP compliance of the facility and equipment used by Garuda 

  • Oversee the equipment validation program 

  • Manage routine equipment preventive maintenance activities that are performed internally 

  • Manage house gas systems and gas deliveries 

  • Coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers 

  • Oversee building space allocation and expansion, including management of office moves 

  • Direct building maintenance activities and ensure that facilities meet regulations and environmental, health, and security standards 

  • Oversee outside vendors that perform preventive maintenance activities for complex equipment and systems 

  • Perform and manage general facility repairs as needed 

  • Other duties as required 

Qualifications / Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.  Technical certification or equivalent may be accepted 

  • 3+ years of experience managing lab and/or cleanroom facilities operations in the biotech industry is required 

  • Prior experience in a cGMP environment is preferred 

  • Experience managing vendors is preferred 

  • Proven ability to independently manage problems and identify solutions 

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are required 

  • A preference for working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and plan tasks and responsibilities 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with all employees and contractors at Stratus and externally  

  • Proficient in software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Smartsheet) 

  • Must be able to laugh and contribute to a positive work culture   

Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds 

  • Requires physical activity such as standing for long periods of time, walking, and working with hands
