Job Description - Senior Healthcare Data Advisor

Job Description:

The Senior Data Advisor is a leader in the development and deployment of data solutions at Intermountain Healthcare, one of the nation’s leading health systems. They are a senior data representative who interacts with business and clinical stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and availability of necessary data for business purposes and data product integration across the organization. They coordinate all aspects of data management and usage within one or more clinical or operational focus area in the areas of Homecare, Hospice, and Palliative Care which includes home medical equipment and pharmacy services. As a Data Steward, they serve as the resident data expert for both user education and solution enablement to improve business operations and patient care. They are a leader within the Data Stewardship Council which is focused on defining and operationalizing data quality, standards and governance best practices. They mentor those in the Healthcare Data Advisor role.

The Data Advisor reports to an Analytic Business Leader who owns the analytic accountability for one or more business divisions at Intermountain Healthcare. They are a lead member of an Analytic Agile Delivery Team which uses the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe) method to deliver customer focused and system level data and analytic product solutions. This is a highly skilled, high impact team with deep clinical/operational and technical expertise which leverages healthcare data to solve real-world problems. They partner with the Agile team to understand, prioritize and resource stakeholder data needs. They collaborate with Data Platform Architects to identify, develop and maintain data assets in support of their clinical or operational focus area. They consult closely with team Data Analysts to ensure appropriate and impactful usage of available data assets in all aspects of analytic work.

In brief, the Senior Data Advisor serves as the connector between data, processes, and outcomes of the analytic services their Agile team provides. They coordinate needed data capture, database analysis, design, data workflow and visualization. They guide * * data strategy for ongoing requests and future opportunities. They provide leadership in the design, implementation, and maintenance of data systems and quality. They are a recognized thought leader among Data Advisors constantly seeking for ways to improve the level of data quality and data impact on clinical and operational performance.

This position has remote work options (Flexwork) to fit individual needs and preferences. We prioritize a strong team collaborative culture with a focus on work life balance. Our teams report to senior analytics leaders and work in strong partnership with key business and clinical leaders across all areas of Intermountain Healthcare. This team provides ongoing training, maintenance, monitoring and promotion of data applications and reports to ensure data is widely known, accessible and used to its fullest potential.

Minimum Qualifications

Must meet one of the following:

Bachelor's degree in an analytics related field such as statistics, mathematics, information systems, computer science, finance, business management, economics, medical informatics, nursing informatics or nursing and six-years combined experience in Data Management,Data Analytics or clinical care with a data focus

or

Bachelor’s degree in another area of study with eight-years combined experience in Data Management,Data Analytics or clinical care with a data focus

or

Experience without a related degree will be considered if skill set and experience are robust

Plus:

Should be well versed in the latest analytic tools and methods

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Be comfortable giving constructive feedback when needed while still being tactful, as well as boosting the morale of their team.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree

Experience with SAFe/Agile team management principles and processes

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$47.80 - $75.25
