Job Summary

The Senior Solutions Infrastructure Architect is responsible for leading the technical aspects for documenting existing, and deploying new infrastructure systems within the organization. As the Senior Solutions Infrastructure Architect, you will help build and integrate information and computer systems that meet specific needs. The Infrastructure Architect is accountable for the end-to-end deployment of computing systems, from concept development to implementation. The ideal candidate will carry a proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow-through with exceptional verbal and written communication. This position is the subject matter expert on systems integration and trends in IT Infrastructure.

Responsibilities & Duties

Serve as principal resource, providing technical oversight, architecture and design of solutions for the implementation of infrastructure compute systems to meet the needs of our application systems roadmap.

Provide technical leadership for the IT infrastructure team on configuration best practices and methods. Take active part in a process to establish knowledge sharing within the infrastructure team and to drive process efficiencies

Work closely with other IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity specialists, to develop cohesive strategies and solutions.

Work with vendors and contractors when necessary

Collaborate with business unit subject matter experts to facilitate and assist the business analyst with information gathering, business processes documentation, process definition and requirements development

Provide technical leadership in analysis, design and optimization (re-engineering) of workflows with the aim of achieving dramatic improvements in critical performance measures, such as cost, quality, service, and speed to market

Ability to Mentor and assist IT Infrastructure team

Review & approve system hardware requirements against roadmap.

Regularly review and optimize existing infrastructure to ensure it meets current and future business needs. Identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Provide recommendations for new technologies and practices that could benefit the organization.

Assist project management by reviewing and providing input to project plans/estimates

Support software quality assurance, test coordination and test execution as needed.

Preferred Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technology discipline or equivalent professional experience

Proven working experience in IT infrastructure project initiatives

Experience in Organizational Change Management

IT systems design

Trucking/transportation IT experience preferred not required

Lean/Six Sigma certifications a plus

The position reports to leadership in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and work can be provided in a hybrid environment or remote if the candidate has a strong background and demonstrated success doing comparable work.

Work locations of each position will be determined during the hiring process. Each work location will depend on business needs and the essential functions of the position.
