Job Description - Senior Logistician

NDI Engineering Company is seeking Logisticians with 10 years of Navy ILS experience to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA and assist with supporting the US Navy.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years’ experience collecting and analyzing configuration, supply, and maintenance data for DMSMS related projects. Specific experience in Navy Integrated Logistics, the Navy Provisioning process, and the Navy supply system with the ability to organize and manage large part databases is required. Ideal candidate will have experience interfacing with engineers and subject matter experts to review possible obsolescence solutions for engineering impacts. Adherence to written policies and work instructions is a must.

Discipline to create, manage and update spreadsheets with progress on vendor surveys.
A willingness to learn and collaborate in high-involvement work team environment under the supervision of lead engineers.

Job Responsibilities

Workflow Management- Candidate will possess strong delegation skills, ensuring tasks are assigned effectively based on team strengths and project priorities. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to collaborate closely with NDIs DMS team and external customers, facilitating clear communication around tasking, progress, and issue resolution.
Proactive Monitoring- will be assigned to work directly with various Navy organizations to identify obsolescence issues and develop solutions. They will be required to communicate with Navy engineers and vendors through meetings, email, phone calls, and Navy software such as Remedy.
Logistics Research- will be assigned with researching technical information on various Navy databases (OneTouch, FEDMALL, Deckplate, etc.) to collect part information.
Case Management- Managing obsolescence cases using excel trackers to create/develop, update, and close out cases and to track current/outstanding workload on programs. Using the team’s tracker; you will manage engineering tasks and tracking completion of tasks. You will be tasked with developing and updated obsolescence Quad Charts with engineering input to track funding requests and case solution implementation.
Reporting- will be assigned to develop bi-weekly/monthly/quarterly reports in Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. This will include consolidating information from Vendor Survey’s and Cases to provide updated status.

Minimum Requirements

Must be a US citizen and able to qualify for a DoD Secret clearance.
Individual shall possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
This work is NOT remote. Working in the Virginia Beach office is required.
Ability to participate and at times lead weekly and monthly working group meetings.
Good verbal and written communications skills to be able to communicate with customers and vendors.
Ability to review technical documentation at a basic level and communicate with engineers on solutions to obsolescence issues.
Proficient with Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to follow work instructions and work somewhat independently are highly desirable traits.
Exposure to online part catalogs and researching how to find alternate parts from distributors.
