Job Description - Senior Logistician - Tactical Communications Programs





SMX is seeking a Logistician. This role is responsible for managing all logistics and supervising equipment accountability for over 50 Systems Integrators across more than 20 CONUS and OCONUS locations. Key activities include purchasing, transportation, inventory management, and warehousing. The Logistician will plan and oversee the movement of vehicles, supplies, and equipment for training events, fielding, maintenance, upgrades, and life cycle replacements. They will ensure Systems Integrators receive necessary training materials and all required consumable and durable equipment. This role ensures the logistics program adheres to all US Army supply discipline regulations and procedures, provides internal logistical support to SMX, and manages overall logistics processes in line with company objectives. The Logistician will also leverage existing networks to meet program logistical requirements.


This position requires a DoD Secret clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.


Responsibilities:



  • After training, maintain access to proprietary systems to track and manage all resources and support requests

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees, customers, end users, and logistics counterparts across multiple government agencies and defense contracting companies

  • Logistically support new equipment training for scheduled and short-notice requests

  • Develop and maintain a cyclic inventory process that accounts for hand receipts across 15-20 locations

  • Develop a process that integrates Sherpa 6 into the government customer’s DPAS system

  • Maintain the customer’s internal inventory management system (COLTS Government and Military Program Management with full MIL-STD-130 UID Label Support by Avantix)

  • Execute DV/VIP briefings, host events, and coordinate all backend requirements for planned events that are Sherpa 6’s responsibility

  • Develop, implement, track, and report shipping of program equipment

  • Assess the physical security requirements and access protocol of storage locations and facilities

  • Participate in the bi-weekly LOG synch as the representative for Spring Lake and help navigate contract requirements to synchronize support across the enterprise

  • Serve as the point of contact for management of all Spring Lake inbound/outbound (shipping and receiving); build a contact list of parallel POCs (Sherpa 6 and external)

  • Conduct direct customer interface to validate documentation and processes for issue and return of equipment (when required)

  • Provide direct input as the Sherpa 6 Logistics RoadMap and POA&M continues to evolve

  • Contribute to the weekly LOG dashboard roll-up on SharePoint

  • Participate in daily synchronization meetings, assist with planning, and manage processes

  • Oversee and enforce supply discipline with proper accountability, inventories, and reporting


Required Qualifications:



  • DoD secret security clearance

  • Associate degree (AA/AS) or equivalent experience

  • 15+ years of work-related experience, with 7+ years supporting USSOCOM

  • Experience with the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS)

  • Knowledge of Defense Logistics Agency and GCSS-Army Policies, procedures, and systems

  • Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Travel as needed


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with the COLTS system

  • 10+ years supporting USSOCOM

  • Experience coaching and mentoring subordinates both onsite and at separate locations

The proposed salary for this position is:
$101,300$156,400 USD
