Job Description - Senior Logistics Analyst (Hybrid Role)

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and preferably have some experience in supply chain, logistics, data analytics, or foodservice.
This role will be responsible for the collection, review and analysis of logistics data to assist in maximizing supply chain efficiency through the effective modeling and design of inbound transportation routes. The role will develop logistics lane analysis, provide transportation conversion solutions, and assist in the implementation and reporting of freight performance across the supply chain.

This role will be onsite 2 days a month in Rosemont, IL.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Senior Logistics Strategy Analyst will be expected to own and drive individual project efforts with minimal guidance from senior team members.  In some cases, the Senior Logistics Strategy Analyst will be expected to provide mentoring and guidance to Logistics Strategy Analysts.  Specific role responsibilities for the Senior Logistics Strategy Analysts include:

• Drive supply chain cost improvement and performance of inbound logistics through daily data analysis of relevant freight and vendor data

• Provide creative and insightful lane recommendations and options to stakeholders based on data analysis and route optimization output

• Leverage Llamasoft transportation optimization software to engineer optimal fleet trucking routes for USF locations and dedicated 3rd party hubs.

• Own the development and maintenance of freight information for assigned lanes / geographies. Operate databases within the logistics management applications (Llamasoft, TMS, ArrowStream)

• Model lane solutions supporting net freight income targets and service level improvements for the inbound supply chain. 

• Serve as subject matter expert regarding process and procedures for reviewing and approving optimal route opportunities, logistics systems and workflows as it relates to freight conversion

• Utilize financial, logistical and procurement databases/systems to assist in for the development, analysis and modeling for load related supply chain efficiency improvements.

• Manage communications with field or other internal / external stakeholders under limited guidance of senior team members

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access)

• Able to translate data insights from large datasets into specific optimization / improvement actions

• Effective communication teaming skills; capable of developing alignment across Logistics functions and other departments

Related Experience/Requirements:
• 2 years of experience with progressive experience in a highly data-drive / analytical type role

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 
• Undergraduate major in supply chain, operations, statistics, business, or a data-related field

• Prior work experience in supply chain, logistics, data analytics, or foodservice

• Prior experience with logistics management applications (e.g. Llamasoft, TMS, Arrowstream)
