Job Description - Senior Manager




Job Summary:







Our client is seeking an energetic, commercially minded, and community-focused Senior Manager to lead the overall member experience, operational excellence, and growth of its fitness community. The role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day gym operations, managing fitness offerings including Padel and Pilates, driving member engagement and retention, leading brand development initiatives, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. The successful candidate will build a vibrant and welcoming environment that strengthens community connection, supports business growth, and positions the gym as a leading fitness and wellness destination in Tanzania.







Responsibilities:



  • Lead daily gym operations to ensure high standards of service delivery and operational efficiency.

  • Manage and develop Padel and Pilates programs to maintain quality experiences and member satisfaction.

  • Build and nurture a strong fitness community through engaging member experiences and positive culture initiatives.

  • Plan and deliver member events, wellness programs, fitness challenges, and community engagement activities.

  • Drive member retention, engagement, and referral initiatives.

  • Lead social media activities including content creation, event promotion, and brand visibility campaigns.

  • Act as the face and ambassador of the gym, building relationships with members and stakeholders.

  • Recruit, coach, and manage gym staff to maintain a customer-focused and high-performing team.

  • Ensure facility standards, cleanliness, maintenance, and health and safety compliance are maintained.

  • Develop partnerships with local businesses, wellness providers, and community organizations.

  • Monitor and report on business performance indicators including memberships, retention, participation, customer satisfaction, and revenue.

  • Identify opportunities to grow memberships, increase revenue, and strengthen brand positioning.






Requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Sports Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fitness, hospitality, wellness, retail, or service-led environments.

  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and operational activities.

  • Experience in community building, customer engagement, events, or brand activation.

  • Strong understanding of social media engagement and customer experience principles.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Commercially driven with strong planning and execution capability.

  • Passion for health, wellness, fitness, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

  • Creative, proactive, and able to introduce fresh ideas to enhance member engagement and overall gym experience.
