Senior Manager, Benefits Tokyo / APAC [HYBRID]

This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution, focusing on benefits administration, compliance, vendor performance, and process optimization. The position partners closely with HR, Finance, external vendors, and regional stakeholders to enhance employee experience while driving operational efficiency and governance.

Requirements

Benefits Strategy & Vendor Management

• Manage regional benefits vendors and oversee service quality, cost efficiency, and contract renewals
  


• Develop metrics and reporting to evaluate vendor performance and operational effectiveness
  


• Build strong partnerships with carriers and external providers across APAC markets
  

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with local regulations and evolving legislative requirements across multiple markets
  


• Oversee governance activities related to pension, retirement, and health & wellbeing programs
  


• Support audits, compliance reporting, and issue escalation management
  

Program Delivery & Communication

• Support communication and promotion of employee benefits, wellness, and work-life programs
  


• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve employee engagement and program utilization
  


• Drive process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives across benefits operations
  


• Serve as a subject matter expert on renewals, analytics, and regional compliance topics
  

M&A & Transformation Support

• Lead benefits-related activities for post-merger integration projects
  


• Support harmonization and standardization of benefits programs for acquired organizations
  


• Participate in pension-related transformation and governance initiatives
  

Required Experience

• 5–7+ years of experience in benefits, total rewards, or HR operations across multiple markets
  


• Strong experience in vendor management, compliance, and benefits administration
  


• Knowledge of pension governance, actuarial requirements, and employee benefits operations
  


• Experience managing large-scale or multi-year projects
  


• Business-level Japanese and strong English communication skills
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience in multinational or matrix organizations
  


• Background in consulting or stakeholder-heavy environments
  


• Familiarity with HR systems such as Workday, ServiceNow, ADP, or online benefits platforms
  


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
