Senior Manager Financial and Audit Remediation

We are seeking a Senior Manager to support the Navy in advancing asset management, financial process alignment, and audit remediation efforts. This role ensures that budgeting, execution, and audit principles are embedded into system design and data strategies. The Senior Manager will serve as a critical liaison between technical teams and financial stakeholders, helping to translate policy into operational requirements, support end-to-end (E2E) workshops, and ensure that financial reporting and interfaces meet Navy Comptroller standards.

The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who can drive strategic initiatives, coordinate across senior government stakeholders (SES and above), and provide hands-on expertise in financial system modernization, internal controls, and corrective action planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Navy financial improvement and audit remediation initiatives, ensuring compliance with DoD and federal financial management requirements.
• Translate financial policies into actionable operational requirements and system capabilities.
• Guide E2E workshops, process modeling, and solution design activities.
• Develop business cases, requirements, and strategic plans to support system modernization and financial transformation efforts.
• Identify and address gaps in current financial processes, proposing solutions and/or workarounds.
• Oversee development of SOPs, user training materials, and knowledge transfer activities.
• Coordinate directly with senior government officials (SES and above) to ensure program alignment and successful execution.
• Provide leadership in the design and implementation of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), audit responses, and internal control frameworks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial management, audit remediation, or related consulting.
• Strong ability to interpret and apply financial laws, regulations, and policies.
• Demonstrated experience with Navy ERP.
• Proven experience leading government walkthroughs, designing, and implementing CAPs and internal controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
• Experience leading complex programmatic tasks and financial transformation initiatives.
• Prior involvement in financial system modernization projects.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working with Wide Area Workflow (WAWF).
• Familiarity with Advana/Jupiter analytics platforms.
