About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced government affairs professional to join our team as Senior Manager, Government Relations for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). This role will serve as a key representative of the business to government stakeholders, responsible for developing and executing high-impact government relations strategies that advance our operational and reputational goals.

As a senior individual contributor, you will lead government engagement across the ANZ region, navigating complex regulatory environments and providing expert policy counsel to internal teams. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence, but without direct people management responsibilities.

• Lead on crafting and executing the Government Relations strategy for our growing business in Australia and New Zealand


• Working in close alignment with partners in our Policy Development & Research and Public Engagement teams, as well as local leadership and other business partners, on our broader public policy strategy


• Represent DoorDash in meetings with political stakeholders including policymakers and administrative authorities at the federal, state, and municipal levels


• Represent DoorDash at regulatory hearings, including by providing testimony  


• Coordinate with trade groups and industry associations, and drive and participate in thought leadership opportunities

We’re excited about you because...

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, political science, economics or related field.


• At least 8 years’ experience in government relations, public policy, political advisory, regulatory affairs, or similar roles—preferably in the tech, digital services, transportation, or regulated service sectors.


• Excellent understanding of ANZ’s political, legislative, and regulatory processes. 


• Be able to identify emerging public policy and political risks and lead response strategies to protect the company’s interests and reputation..


• Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment.


• Exceptional communication and persuasion skills with the ability to synthesise complex information for internal and external audiences.
