Join us

We’re looking for someone with meeting management expertise to join our team as our senior manager of meetings & conferences. This is a highly visible role that plays a key part in shaping the experience of our attendees while collaborating with all stakeholders and venue management. 

As our senior manager of meetings & conferences you’ll lead and manage the execution of our various meetings and conferences, including our IREM and IREM Foundation Board of Directors meetings.

Some specific responsibilities include:

  • Leading the logistical planning, coordinating, budget management and execution of IREM’s spring conference (500+ attendees) and fall conference (300+ attendees) as well as two in-person IREM and IREM Foundation Board of Director meetings. To do this, you'll  develop site selection criteria, write RFPs, and evaluate and analyze venue and vendor proposals. 
  • Conducting site visits, assessing costs and benefits, and negotiating contracts. 
  • Leading registration process by coordinating third-party registration vendor, internal stakeholders and on-site team. 
  • Collaborating with marketing and IT teams on website configuration, marketing and promotion of events, and registration.
  • Overseeing all on-site logistical details including room set-up and assignments, A/V, transportation, housing, food and beverage, and on-site coordination for keynote speakers. 
  • Creating post-event evaluations.
  • Coordinating group housing, catering and off-site events for IREM conferences and Board of Directors meetings.

Requirements

Let your passions and talents shine

We’re looking for candidates who have at least five years of experience in a meeting planning-related role--a big plus is if that experience was gained at a professional or trade association. Venue sourcing and contract negotiation experience are also big pluses as is holding the CMP designation. 

In addition, you must thrive in fast-past environments, want to make an immediate impact, have a proactive approach to getting things done, be highly collaborative, and possess a keen eye for detail.  To fulfill the requirements of this role, you'll also need to be able to travel 4 or more times a year.


Salary Description

$81,000 - 86,000, depending on experience
