Your role:

As the Senior Manager, Payroll (US & CA) you will play a key role in the development of the Kidney Co (Vantive) payroll strategy, while leading the implementation and continuous enhancement of Kidney Co (Vantive)'s payroll system functionality. Focus will be on US and Canada payroll and timekeeping initially. Support and contribute to the assessment of system and team capabilities to expand to a global payroll and timekeeping model.

What you'll be doing:
Implementing HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of payroll strategic objectives and desired organizational culture. Responsible for building a new team to drive implementation!
Develop and drive overall implementation of payroll strategies, continually assesses effectiveness.
Lead payroll system implementation efforts for newly formed company, Kidney Co (Vantive).
Drives the partnership with our HR service providers for payroll and timekeeping to ensure alignment with the broader HRIS roadmap as well as Kidney Co (Vantive)'s business priorities!
Owns the integration between HRIS and other key systems such as timekeeping, benefits, and finance and is responsible for driving the roadmap for these integrations from a payroll perspective collaborating with other Subject Matter Experts.
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Advises management and provides expertise on a variety of payroll issues.
Continually monitors and assesses the effectiveness of the US & Canada payroll model and team dynamics and leads efforts to realign/refocus as needed.
Continuously develop and understand industry payroll trends, initiate discussions on relevance to the Company and drive initiatives to implement these trends for Company.
Networks with peers and leaders in other organizations to bring standard methodologies to the Company.
Partners with other HR and Finance leaders to plan and implement changes to payroll and timekeeping systems and processes.
Leads payroll activities associated with acquisitions, divestitures, and other organizational changes.
Partners with Global Regional Payroll leads to ensure alignment.
Ensure operations are performed in compliance with company policies, country, state/province, and local laws and are aligned with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Audit team activity and coordinating workload in line with SLAs by organizing, prioritizing, and making effective workload allocation decisions.

What you'll bring:
Minimum of 8 years progressive payroll managment experience required.
Strong leadership and influence skills, and the ability to motivate change
Ability to work in a team
Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships and to influence decision making of others
Strong project management skills and results orientation
System implementation experience
Good business acumen and judgment
Ability to deal with ambiguity
Demonstrated ability to help define, translate, and complete an organization's strategy
History of delivering results
Excellent communication and listening skills
Expert knowledge of payroll strategies, practices, and policies
Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict
Demonstrated strong analytical, process and problem-solving skills
Proven experience working through known and unforeseen challenges and obstacles to achieve goals
Ability to effectively address customer concerns while also maintaining adherence to standards
Must have previous HCM (Human Capital Mgmt), Paryoll and Timekeeping Systems experience.
System implementation experience a huge plus.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $128,000 to $176,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonus, and long-term incentive.
