As a Senior Manager in Tax Accounting Advisory, you will play a key leadership role within a growing, integrated platform. This is a hands-on role for an experienced tax professional who wants ownership, influence, and the ability to help shape both client outcomes and the future of the practice.
Senior Managers at Sharp serve as trusted advisors to complex clients, lead high-impact engagements, mentor rising talent, and collaborate closely across Accounting, Tax, Advisory, Investment Banking, and Wealth. You will have real visibility, real responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute beyond a narrow service line.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and oversee complex tax engagements, ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables
Review and approve complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, and trusts
Identify and implement tax planning strategies aligned with client business and personal goals
Advise clients on advanced tax matters, including restructurings, transactions, succession planning, and business transitions
Conduct and review technical tax research, translating guidance into practical recommendations
Manage engagement economics, including budgets, staffing, timelines, and profitability
Serve as a senior escalation point for complex technical and client matters
Mentor and develop Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates through coaching and technical review
Build long-term client relationships and act as a primary point of contact
Collaborate with Sharp’s broader platform to deliver integrated, holistic client solutions
Contribute to practice growth, process improvement, and the continued evolution of the Tax Accounting Advisory group
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
12+ years of experience in public accounting or a small- to mid-market advisory firm
CPA or Enrolled Agent certification required
Strong technical expertise across U.S. tax compliance for Individuals, Partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, and Trusts
Experience with CCH ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess
Advanced Excel skills and strong command of Microsoft Office
Exposure to M&A, entity restructuring, and business transitions strongly preferred
Proven ability to independently manage complex client relationships
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams
