Job Description - Senior Medical Technologist

Lead Medical Technologist (MT)

Shift: 3:00pm to 11:00pm (2nd Shift)

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lead Medical Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, laboratory management, and various specimen collection techniques. The Lead Medical Technologist will ensure accuracy in data collection and reporting while adhering to established protocols and safety standards.

Duties

Conduct specimen collection processing, including blood sampling and venipuncture.

Perform laboratory procedures and assays with precision and accuracy.

Utilize document management systems for effective record-keeping and data organization.

Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights.

Engage in quality control measures to uphold the integrity of laboratory results.

Assist in training new staff members on laboratory protocols and procedures.

Stay updated on advancements in medical technology and laboratory practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field.

Certification as a Medical Technologist (e.g., ASCP or equivalent) is preferred.

Proficient in medical terminology and laboratory management practices.

Experience with data collection methods and flow within a laboratory setting.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a clinical environment.
