- Set and maintain standardized characterization methods for the company, ensuring design criteria are consistently met
- Drive scale up of nanoparticle synthesis, working directly with contractors and collaborators to move from lab to production scale
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior nanoscientists on the team
- Partner with academic and industrial collaborators to advance the company's nanoparticle IP and research agenda
- Work across hardware, software, data science, and regulatory teams to integrate nanoscience advances into BCI technology
- Help operate and maintain internal nanoscience laboratories, with input on lab planning and equipment decisions
- Represent Subsense's scientific work through peer reviewed publication and conference presentations
What You'll Bring
- A PhD in chemistry, materials science, or a similar field, with 5 to 10 years of industrial or postdoctoral research experience
- Deep expertise in inorganic and organic nanoparticle synthesis, modification, and characterization, with a track record of leading projects independently
- Strong understanding of biological applications of nanoparticles
- Experience scaling nanoparticle synthesis from lab to pilot or production scale
- Experience collaborating with academic labs and CROs
