Job Description - Senior Network Administrator

Senior Network Administrator
12-Month Contract to Hire
Dallas, TX (Hybrid - Cityplace)

Responsibilities:
Ensure the uptime, reliability, and quality of the national data network.
Provision comprehensive, integrated, reliable, high-quality services in backbone and local area networking, network facilities and infrastructure, Internet access, high-performance networking, network security, remote access to IT services, and telecommunications.
Track and update all incidents in a ticketing system.
Collaborate with vendors to deploy new networks and resolve incidents.
Provide detailed incident reports as required.
Serve as tier-2 or 3 support for all network-related events in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment.
Monitor the corporate WAN network and the 150+ divisions worldwide, ensuring optimal operation of switches, routers, WAPs, etc.
Maintain backups of all necessary network equipment into a configuration management tool.
Analyze network traffic patterns and recommend improvements using NetFlow tools.
Interface between the Network and Telecommunication Services department and other teams, such as the Help Desk and Server Operations.
Document all changes to the network.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Participate in an on-call rotation, including off-hour duties.

Requirements:
10+ years of relevant networking experience.
Strong commitment to standardization and documentation.
Knowledge of various network field concepts, practices, and procedures.
Proficient in performing a variety of tasks.
Experience supporting a decentralized company structure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in a fast-growing, changing environment.
Strong knowledge of the BGP routing protocol and working with public Internet service providers.
Support and configuration of multiple VLAN environments.
Understanding of a Windows server environment and its services on the network.
Cisco Certifications – minimum professional level certification or equivalent experience.
Expertise in installing and configuring Meraki devices, Zscaler, and Fortinet.
Excellent understanding of Wi-Fi and the ability to implement and troubleshoot.
VPN experience, particularly with IPSEC.
Experience dealing with vendors to implement and resolve issues.
Willingness to travel to remote locations within the United States, up to 25%.
Preferred Level Experience:
VOIP Phone System experience is a plus.
Cisco Professional level certification in multiple disciplines.
Previous Transportation or other relevant industry experience at an Enterprise level is preferred.
Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of Zscaler, Meraki, and Fortinet products are preferred.
Ability to effectively use SolarWinds products.
