Company Overview:

Arctiq is a North American professional and managed services firm built around three Centers of Excellence: Enterprise Security, Modern Infrastructure, and Platform Engineering. We help large enterprises modernize how they deliver IT — connecting infrastructure, security, networking, applications, and cloud into a coherent operating model rather than a stack of disconnected tools.

Position Overview:

**This is not a remote role, it is Hybrid, in Colorado Springs, CO**

The Senior Network Engineer, serves as a technical expert within the Office of Information Technology, supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of a campus-wide network infrastructure. This position is responsible for day-to-day operations, ongoing development, and optimization of routing, switching, backbone, RADIUS services, and DDI network services (DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management). The engineer ensures reliable, secure, and high-performance connectivity for academic, research, and administrative functions. Key responsibilities include managing integrated core network services, troubleshooting complex network issues, deploying new technologies, and collaborating with IT staff, campus departments, and external partners to deliver robust networking solutions across all university locations.

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Core Network Operations (50%)

  • Manage, configure, and maintain campus-wide routing, core, access, server, and storage network infrastructure, supporting both core and backbone networks.

  • Implement and optimize protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, and LACP.

  • Oversee network connectivity and ensure high performance and reliability across all locations.

DDI and RADIUS Network Services (25%)

  • Administer and maintain integrated core network services: DNS (Domain Name System), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), IP Address Management (IPAM), and network authentication systems including RADIUS services.

  • Monitor and optimize DDI and RADIUS systems to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance network operations.

Infrastructure Operations & Automation (10%)

  • Perform software updates and lifecycle management for networking hardware and software.

  • Automate network tasks using scripting languages and platforms such as Ansible.

Network Monitoring & Analytics (10%)

  • Implement and manage network monitoring tools to collect, analyze, and report on network statistics and performance metrics.

  • Use monitoring data to proactively identify issues, optimize network resources, and support capacity planning.

Collaboration & Documentation (5%)

  • Diagram network architectures and document configurations.

  • Collaborate with IT teams and campus stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.

  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • To be considered for this role, you must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven track record in designing, configuring, and managing large-scale enterprise networks.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Cisco IOS/NX-OS and HPE Aruba switches.

  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and redundancy technologies (HSRP, VRRP).

  • A current industry certification in routing (a CCNP Enterprise or equivalent) is required. If not currently certified, certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

  • Experience with Cisco Nexus and HPE Aruba platforms is highly desirable.

  • Experience automating network tasks using Ansible or similar tools is highly desirable.

  • Experience managing networks in an educational environment is highly desirable.
