Title: Senior Office 365 Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA Local only (4 days/ week onsite in Midtown)

Duration: Full-Time

Position Summary

The client has a global workforce of over 24,000 employees. The Senior Office 365 Engineer is responsible for contributing within a global infrastructure team that enable this workforce with the necessary infrastructure services for them to be successful. This position will provide solution development and third-level support for the Microsoft 365 Messaging and collaboration technologies.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead the design and implementation including planning, and deployment of Microsoft 365 collaboration and application solutions. Ensure proper integration with existing systems and platforms.
  • Configure and maintain a hybrid Microsoft Exchange 2019 on-prem environment along with Microsoft Exchange Online mailbox environment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Proofpoint email hygiene products including Proofpoint Secure Email Relay.
  • Maintenance of Microsoft 365 tenant configuration settings, such as domain name settings, federation, and external access.
  • Develop training materials and deliver training sessions to end-users, promoting the effective use of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools. Drive user adoption and change management strategies to ensure maximum utilization of the platform's features and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal business teams to understand their collaboration requirements and translate them into effective Microsoft 365 solutions. Advise and develop solutions, workflows, and best practices to address common business challenges within our workforce.
  • Identifies potential points of integration between M365 services on the core device-top and works with technical colleagues to deliver key integrations.
  • Design and implement automated workflows using tools like SharePoint Designer and Power Automate, ensuring seamless and efficient processes.
  • Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, coding guidelines, and user manuals, to guide the smooth implementation and maintenance of solutions.
  • Work closely with Security team to establish governance policies, security controls, and compliance standards for Microsoft 365 collaboration tools. Monitor and enforce these policies to maintain data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, addressing issues related to Microsoft 365 tools and solutions. Act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with IT support teams to resolve complex problems.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, features, and industry best practices. Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance collaboration capabilities.
  • Ensure vendors provide proper levels of support, maintain SLAs, and provide root cause analysis for escalated issues.
  • Ensure all team, departmental and firm policies and procedures are adhered to, including technical change management and service continuity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Prior administration experience of M365.
  • Messaging or Exchange experience.
  • BS/BA in Information Technology.
  • 5+ years proven knowledge of using Microsoft's 365 product suite.
  • M365 Certified: (e.g., MS-900, MS-700, MS-600).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to provide root cause analysis and demonstrate results through testing and metrics.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven solutions delivery and architecture experience with Microsoft 365 products.
  • M365 migration experience (discovery, design, implementation/execution, support, and maintenance).
  • Experience within client-facing professional services or consulting.
  • Working knowledge of Azure AD and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit requirements and communicate clearly with non-technical individuals as well as development teams and subject matter experts.
  • Familiarity with governance, security, and compliance considerations in the context of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
  • Output and efficiency driven mindset with a forthcoming attitude.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills & ability to follow a structured methodology to solve problems.
  • Excellent teamwork and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale technical projects, including organization, planning, implementation, and execution.
  • In-depth experience of business process analysis.
  • Deep understanding and extensive knowledge of the functionality, interdependencies, and infrastructure of the Microsoft 365 family of products including Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange, and Power Platform.
  • Proven expertise in security and compliance related to Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
  • Proficiency in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agent.
  • Skilled in SharePoint, SPFx, Teams App development, Graph API, Governance, Administration, and SharePoint migration.
  • Familiarity with Angular JS, .Net, BOT Framework, REST API, Azure DevOps, and Voltage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proofpoint experience
  • Administration experience
  • M365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • ITIL/ITSM Certified
  • Message Hygiene knowledge
  • Strong Consultative Presence, this role will have extensive visibility both internally and externally
