Job Description - Senior Operations Manager

The Good and the Beautiful is looking for a qualified, experienced and motivating individual to join our Operations team in Lehi, Utah!



Job Summary


The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance, leadership, and continuous improvement of warehouse operations. This role owns the systems, people, and processes required to deliver safe, high-quality, and on-time fulfillment.


The Senior Operations Manager builds a disciplined culture where people are proud to work, expected to contribute, and held to a standard. Resulting in a workplace that improves lives (both for employees and customers) through meaningful, disciplined work.



Core Objectives


Focus Areas for Development and Improvement



  1. Team and Culture

    • Semi-annual operations survey of a 4.0 or better

    • 85% of employees meet or exceed performance and behavioral standards



  2. Continuous Improvement

    • Standard Work exists for all core processes and is followed consistently

    • Year-over-year improvements measured and reported (Safety, Productivity, Quality)



  3. Quality

    • Achieve and sustain less than 0.05% order error rate

    • Maintain brand standards aligned with “The Good and the Beautiful”




Areas to Sustain



  1. Safety

    • Zero serious injuries or near misses

    • Continuous improvement in ergonomics, workplace safety, and hazard identification



  2. On-Time Shipping

    • Achieve and sustain 99.5% on-time shipping or better

    • Manage staffing to maintain lead times (Typically 1-2 days)





Key Responsibilities



  • Operational Performance

    • Own end-to-end warehouse operations: Receiving, Inventory, Fulfillment, Facilities, and Equipment

    • Accountable for achieving all Core Objectives: Safety, Quality, On-Time Shipping, Continuous Improvement, and Culture

    • Communicate performance, risks, and corrective actions clearly to leadership



  • Team Leadership and Development

    • Lead and develop Operations Manager, Operations Support Manager, Shift Manager(s), Assistant Managers, and Facilities Manager

    • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and consistency for the team 

    • Coach leaders to manage performance, address issues quickly, and uphold standards

    • Build bench strength and succession plans for all key roles



  • Systems and Standard Work

    • Ensure all core processes have documented, implemented, and maintained Standard Work

    • Audit adherence to Standard Work and address gaps immediately

    • Eliminate reliance on tribal knowledge and strong individual performers

    • Reinforce that disciplined execution enables stability and improvement



  • Continuous Improvement

    • Build a culture where Continuous Improvement is expected at all levels

    • Develop leaders and teams to identify waste, solve problems, and improve processes

    • Ensure regular implementation of improvements that measurably impact Safety, Quality, and Productivity

    • Balance efficiency gains without degrading the employee experience

    • Use data to drive decisions and track year-over-year improvements



  • Drive a Disciplined Culture

    • Build and maintain a disciplined, high-performance culture where employees are expected to contribute, take ownership, and consistently meet or exceed defined performance and behavioral standards.

    • Foster an environment where people take pride in their work and push each other to improve.

    • Ensure gaps in performance or behavior are addressed promptly through coaching, performance improvement plans, or appropriate support, including reasonable accommodations where applicable.

    • Ensure managers are actively coaching, documenting, and developing their teams



  • Capacity and Resource Planning

    • Own capacity planning to ensure staffing, scheduling, and labor allocation consistently meet shipping timelines and volume demands

    • Plan and prepare for seasonal peaks and business growth without compromising Safety, Quality, or On-Time Shipping performance

    • Oversee capital planning for equipment and facility needs, ensuring resources support current operations and future scalability



  • Facilities and Equipment Oversight

    • Ensure facility is safe, organized, and well-maintained aligned with the owners expectations

    • Oversee preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability

    • Continuously improve layout, workflow, and ergonomics to support Safety, Quality, and operational efficiency



  • Align Operations with Company Mission

    • Ensure all operational decisions support delivering a high-quality product aligned with the vision of The Good and the Beautiful

    • Reinforce the connection between operational performance and customer experience

    • Build a workplace that improves lives through meaningful, disciplined work





Qualifications




  • 5–10+ years in warehouse, fulfillment, or operations leadership

  • Proven experience leading leaders (not just frontline employees)

  • Strong background in process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent)

  • Experience managing performance through metrics and KPIs


Preferred



  • Experience scaling operations

  • WMS and systems implementation experience

  • Multi-shift or high-volume fulfillment environment

Supervisory Responsibility


This position will directly supervise the Operations Manager, Operations Support Manager, and B Shift Manager. This position will also oversee all warehouse and fulfillment personnel.



Work Environment


This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.



Physical Demands


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 pounds, and push/pull fully loaded pallets on a pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work


This is a full time position. Typical days of work are Monday through Friday. This position needs to be flexible with hours in order to help both shifts and during extended hours during the busy season. 



  • Typical warehouse hours are:

    • A Shift: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    • B Shift: 12:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.



  • Busy Season extended hours (Limited time during March and August)

    • A Shift: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

    • B Shift: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
