Minimum Knowledge and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Transportation, business management or related field; MBA preferred.
Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience and knowledge with railroad operations
Development and delivery of transportation improvement projects
Route analysis and planning development / infrastructures
Program and project management.

Skills:

Extensive experience working cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Communication skills at interpersonal and intergroup levels, both for verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated capability to influence, negotiate and facilitate buy-in with a variety of stakeholders.
Proven ability and willingness to be accountable for challenging, complex metrics.
Structured approach to problem solving and change management in a fast-paced environment.
Relentless drive to solve problems.
Quantitative and qualitative analysis

Key Accountabilities (Essential Job Duties):

Demonstrates understanding and adheres to the KCS principles of Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence, Safety & Security, and Economic Performance

Operations Performance Targets:

Deliver Network on Time Performance targets through development and management of cross-functional improvement projects across the business.
Ensures OTP governance quickly identifies and addresses emerging performance issues.
Establishes business performance improvement cycles to drive improvement in key areas; these include cyclical meetings that feed into the Operational Excellence and Customer Experience Board

Performance and Operational Transformation Team Initiatives:

Program management of performance and operational transformation team initiatives
Implement team management practices to ensure all performance initiatives are on track to deliver business goals.
Provide guidance to all performance pillar leaders to resolve roadblocks to delivering their business objectives.
Ensure one-on-one meetings with performance pillar leaders to discuss progress of their individual business objectives.
In collaboration with performance pillar leaders, develop continuous improvement projects.
Lead the Performance and Operational Transformation team meeting.

Performance Program Reporting:

Meet with Chief of Performance, Planning, and Operational Transformation weekly to provide updates on progress of Performance and Operational Transformation team initiatives.
Monthly reporting of progress of 94.0% Initiative at the Operational Excellence and Customer Experience board meeting
Quarterly reporting of progress of 94.0% Initiative to MBTA
Semi-annual reporting of progress of 94.0% Initiative at Keolis management conferences

Completes other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions (including Physical Demands)

Environment: office and in the field
Exposures: when in field, potential for loud noise, weather, or rough terrain
Essential Physical Requirements: typing, ladder climbing
Physical Effort: Mostly a sedentary position with days out in the field
Travel Requirements: minimal.
Weekend work Requirements: A few times a year for major operational events.

Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background check. Must pass a physical examination.
