Position Summary: Proactive, highly skilled PACS & Imaging Administrator.  Experienced Analyst/Admin with the ability to bridge the gap between clinical workflows and technical infrastructure.  The ideal candidate will administer, optimize, and expand our imaging platforms—specifically Cerner RIS, PowerScribe 360, Optum PACS, Stratus Image Archive, and Viewpoint —while driving strategic initiatives, vendor management, and workflow integration with outside Radiologist Group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Optimization: Evaluate current imaging workflows with Imaging Stakeholders to redesign processes to improve efficiency, speed to diagnosis, and radiologist productivity.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as a technical liaison with imaging vendors (Nuance, GE/Philips/Siemens, Cerner) to manage upgrades, patches, optimization, and support.
  • Integration & Interoperability: Assist with implementation and support of key HL7 and Dicom exchanges (ADT, ORM, ORU, and charge capture well as reporting.)
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform root-cause analysis on complex image routing, DICOM errors, and data integration failures, reducing reliance on vendor support.
  • Project Management: Coordinate implementations of new imaging technology, system upgrades, and new modality integrations from planning to go-live.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance: Oversee image lifecycle management, ensure HIPAA compliance, and maintain security protocols.

Complexity of work

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Advanced DICOM/HL7 troubleshooting, Workflow analysis and redesign
  • Project management methodology with excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, 24/7 critical environment

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Required Education and Skills:

  • Experience: 7 years of experience in PACS administration, imaging informatics, or Radiology IT.
  • Technical Knowledge: Advanced proficiency with DICOM, HL7, and SQL for database queries and reporting.
  • Platform Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with Powerscribe 360, Viewpoint, and Cerner or Similar.
  • Experience incorporating traditional PACS Administration with emerging AI technologies is a plus.  (AI Orchestration, algorithm validation, result standardization with EMR)
  • {Nice to Have} Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Any specialty accepted. Radiology Tech licensure issued by the Illinois Emergency Mgmt Agency preferred in combination with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
