Senior PostgreSQL Migration & Development Engineer

Project Overview:

We’re looking for a senior database engineer to lead the migration of a legacy SQL database to PostgreSQL on Oracle Cloud. You’ll drive architecture decisions, manage the migration lifecycle, and ensure high-quality deliverables under tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end migration from legacy SQL systems to PostgreSQL
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance database solutions on Oracle Cloud
• Optimize data architecture to ensure clean, reliable migration and minimal disruption
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams and stakeholders
• Own the delivery timeline and quality of all database components

Success Criteria:

• Complete migration ahead of schedule
• Deliver stable, production-ready PostgreSQL environments
• Ensure zero major issues post-deployment

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in database engineering, including recent PostgreSQL work
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, schema design, and performance tuning
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Familiarity with Oracle DB and legacy SQL environments
• Proven leadership in large-scale data migration projects
• Solid experience in scripting, automation, and troubleshooting complex database issues

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Prior experience in fast-paced enterprise environments
• Strong communication and documentation skills
