Job Description - Senior Power System Protection Engineer
Lead or execute power system protection and control engineering projects of various sizes and complexities. Design relay settings for high voltage electrical substations (13kV-500kV). Coordinate and lead project activities, individually and within teams. Execute complex assignments, develop new processes, equipment, or technological methods. Develop and evaluate plans for major projects, assess feasibility. Coordinate project studies, reports, or design assignments. Perform power system studies and protection settings coordination. Apply industry standards for equipment protection. Develop design basis documentation and configure relay files. Conduct power systems modeling and relay coordination analysis. Provide technical guidance, conduct design reviews, and ensure quality. Act as primary contact for client communication. Support construction and commissioning activities. Lead engineering teams and assist in project scope development. Train, guide, and mentor junior engineers. Support business development and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field. 7 years' experience in electrical systems studies. Professional Engineer licensure preferred. Understanding of Protection and Control system design. Proficiency in relevant software and excellent communication skills.
