Job Description - Senior Power Systems Engineer

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer. This position will be a hybrid role based out of our Franksville, WI facility.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $94000 - $138000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nYou will engage directly with both internal teams and external partners to devise protection and control solutions that range from standard offerings to custom-made creations. Moreover, as an early user of our proprietary control platforms, your feedback will be vital in refining their functionality and guiding their development.\n\nYour position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the creation of innovative high-tech products, to offer support to electric utilities grappling with real-world protection and control issues, and to deepen and disseminate your expertise in the technologies that are pivotal to the power grid\u2019s digital transformation. Your work will encompass the application of both standard and graphical programming techniques to solve power system protection and control challenges. You will also play a supportive role in product development and testing, ensuring system functionality is up to par.\n\nFurthermore, you will be sharing your valuable knowledge and experience by delivering training and collaborating closely on projects with varying degrees of complexity and scope. By leveraging state-of-the-art tools and testing equipment, you will simulate, test, and confirm the efficacy of protection and control functions. Your contributions will also extend to the development of solutions that meet industry standards, and you will have the chance to give back to the industry by participating in the creation of these standards.\n\n## What will make you successful?\n\nCollaboration is key in this role, as you will be working alongside a global team of engineers and developers who support a diverse array of control platforms and technologies. Additionally your capacity to operate independently, with little oversight, will showcase your strong initiative and self-management capabilities.\n\nWe look forward to the potential of having such a self-motivated individual join us!\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\n-Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution \n-Minimum of two years\u2019 experience in power systems, protection \u0026 control, or logical programming \n-No relocation offered. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Franksville, WI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. \n-Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n-Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Power Systems Engineering from an accredited institution \n-Two or more years of experience in logical programming \n-Experience working with medium voltage power distribution system IEDs, such as protective relays, recloser controls, or other related protection and control devices \n-Knowledge of modern utility automation and protection schemes \n-Experience in power systems protection, coordination, design analysis or relaying \n-Experience in PLC programming, digital logic, combinatorial logic, or use of IEC 61131 programming languages\n\n#LI-ML1 \n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
