Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company. Continually coordinates with the systems engineering and program integration team (PIT) leader to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customer. There is one Chief Engineer per program.\n\nThis Chief Engineer will join the Sykesville, MD Engineering and Sciences (E\u0026S) team supporting the Power / Control Systems (P/CS) Operating Unit (OU). Sykesville programs encompass a large range of customers with Power and Control Systems needs but primarily designs for US Navy platforms at sea. Interim secret clearance required to start.\n\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience as a technical lead, Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead, or other leadership role in a program office or business function with demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills.\n\n * Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects.\n\n * Experience directly managing or leading engineering teams\n\n * Fluency with developing and executing project schedules.\n\n * Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing, and Test process\n\n * Problem-solving experience in a team environment\n\n * PMP certification a plus\n\n * Active Secret Security Clearance\n\n\n\n\nNGFeaturedJobs\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
