Senior Principal Electronics Durability Engineer

The durability analysis team supports programs across the sector, including the airborne, ground mobile, ground stationary, and surface based naval applications, and across a variety of length scales ranging from ECS systems, sensor and radar systems, chassis, CCAs, and device levels. Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience, Master's Degree with 6 years of experience, Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields. U.S Citizenship is required The ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance The ability to work onsite daily at the Linthicum, MD/Baltimore facility. Demonstrated experience in electronics design, with a focus on solder joint durability analysis for products in challenging and diverse environments. Minimum of 6 years of expertise in design by analysis with a Computer Aided Engineering software package Demonstrated application of durability analysis principles to challenging fatigue problems experienced by advanced electronic and avionics systems. Demonstrated understanding of component level design mitigation when encountering durability life challenges. Experience presenting to internal and external program stakeholders and authoring contract deliverable reports. Minimum of 2 years of engineering team leadership including leading, mentoring, and reviewing work for small teams to achieve hardware design milestones. Experiencing managing competing deadlines and coordinating data from multiple functional teams. Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Minimum of 2 years of experience performing engineering analysis utilizing Matlab or similar software. Minimum of 2 years of experience analyzing and advising programs on electronics production quality nonconformances, field events, or DMS redesigns. Demonstrated understanding of component CTE measurement practices and Steinberg's method for vibration analysis of electronic equipment. Demonstrated experience of performing durability analysis for or advising vendors on durability analysis for vendor designed systems, CCAs, and microelectronics.
