Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Mission Effectiveness/Ops Analysis to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.\n\nIn this role, you will support the Systems Engineering Integration (SEI) Integrated Product Team (IPT). \n\n \nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis to support program development, execution, and related research and development projects\n * Develop mission relevant scenarios; assesses operational effectiveness of existing and/or emerging systems and capabilities in representative operational environments\n * Develop new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, weapon systems components to include air vehicle platform, kinematics, sensors, communications, command \u0026 control, weapons, and threat performance models and algorithms. \n * Analyzes and tests next generation tactical assets within an advanced threat environment\n * Develop software to simulate real-time operations and behavior of systems for virtual simulation (man in the loop) testing so that future tactical aircraft can be evaluated in next generation air warfare mission environments.\n * Model operational environments and perform trade studies via computer simulation resulting in recommendations for alternative system architectures and configurations\n * Support the design and development of visualization models and databases for integration with a high fidelity simulation environment used for strategic simulation and training\n * Support evaluations to determine the best frameworks, hardware, capabilities, and tools available to create simulations and experiences that enhance the Virtual Simulation product\n * Ensures performance capabilities of new systems and architectures are traded against cost and mission requirements\n * Communicate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities\n * Ability to work independently or in team settings, according to project needs\n * This position requires practical experience and interpretation of modeling and simulation results, algorithms, and formulas and must be able to communicate their significance and relevancy in a clear, detailed manner.\n\n\n\nWe offer flexible work arrangements, 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment. We are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people to help us grow our services and become even better at what we do.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience\n * Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.\n * Must have experience with operations analysis and/or virtual simulation tools (e.g. AFSIM, Brawler, NGTS, MATLAB)\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with MBSE modeling products (e.g. Cameo)\n * Experience with STK and/or FORTRAN\n * Experience collaborating on projects with multiple teams and managing relationships through effective communication.\n * Advanced degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science\n * Experience in weapon system level design, integration, test and evaluation\n * An understanding of Integrated Air Defense Systems and capabilities\n * The ability to translate Physics/Mathematics models into real-time simulation algorithms and models\n * Experience with real time simulation/software development\n * Experience working within an Agile workflow using Atlassian Suite products (i.e. Jira, BitBucket)\n * Familiarity with Digital Engineering processes\n * Ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences\n * Active Top Secret Clearance\n\n\n\n#AS-FA3\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
