Position Summary:

The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing landscaping and grounds maintenance activities. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises the work of subordinate employees by prioritizing work assignments, providing general instructions, and reviewing the work performed.

Coordinates and maintains ground keeping maintenance activities, such as pruning, mixing chemicals, applying fertilizers, pesticides, mulching, weeding, tree trimming, propagating, and watering shrubbery and flowers.

Secures landscape maintenance building and equipment daily.

Makes recommendations on maintenance activities

Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily schedules of grounds maintenance and landscaping.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in landscaping and grounds maintenance.

Ability to plan, organize, and direct a landscaping and grounds maintenance program.

Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment.

Ability to maintain records and estimate landscaping and grounds maintenance needs.

Ability to supervise the work activities of subordinate employees in landscaping and grounds maintenance.

Knowledge in irrigation or pvc piping repair.

Minimum Requirements:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus, three years of experience in landscaping, grounds keeping, ground maintenance, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading a team of 3+ employees.

Good leadership skills,

Time management skills,

Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
