Oversees a team of hourly employees in a production building or area and ensures production goals are met
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Studies production schedules and establishes work hour requirements for completion of job assignment
Enforces company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to employees, and assigns duties
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals
Maintains time and production records through Kronos
Requisitions and inspects materials
Coordinates with maintenance for setup and adjustment of machines
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
Performs activities of employees supervised when necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Directly supervises employees in assigned production area(s)
Interviews applicants
Trains employees
Plans, assigns, and directs work
Appraises performance
Rewards and disciplines employees
Addresses complaints and resolves problems
Requirements
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Two year technical or Associate’s degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
Five years of experience as a Production Supervisor at CCM TN
Five years of experience in a leadership role with increasing level of responsibility
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to lead a team by example
Demonstrable high level of integrity
Ability to prioritize time and tasks in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Proficient with MS Office
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to pass physical examination for use of respirators and Pyro suit
Eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)
Willing to work in an environment that requires a “Safety First” attitude. Must obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy
Ability read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Process Specifications
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle energetic and non-energetic material
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
