This position is responsible for financial controls, procedures, systems and forecasting to create budgets and forecast, ensure compliance with customer requirements
Participates in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects of varying contract type, size, complexity, and level of risk.
Involves significant interaction with Program/Project Managers, Contracts personnel, Senior technical personnel, and other functional or support organizations
Implements financial policies and procedures in support of projects
Establishes and maintains cost/schedule baselines with the program staff
May develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs) and related dictionaries, and/or project schedules and budgets, and possesses a complete understanding of related financial policies
Develops and maintains Estimates at Completion (EACs) for projects and performs related variance analyses
Generate and review customer invoices based upon program, operations and system input.
Various reporting requirements that include waterfall, AR Cash Flow, budget/forecast variance reports, etc.
Manages the setup and administration of project codes and labor categories in the accounting system in accordance with policies and procedures
Performs other duties as required
Requirements
5-7+ years relevant experience in federal government contracting with experience in manufacturing and production using Unanet or Deltek Costpoint
Experience in providing financial tracking and support for the government customer in areas of Program Control, Finance, Cost Estimating, Financial Analysis, or Accounting.
Complete understanding of financial analysis such as ROS, ROC, annual operating plans, revenue and profit forecast, as well as the preparation of program data, EAC development and cost estimating and pricing
Demonstrate the ability to process and analyze large volumes of data in Excel and consolidate into management level reports.
Knowledge of general and corporate business practices, government contracting regulations and principles, and accounting and finance principles.
Must have attention to detail and sound analytical skills, ability to interpret/communicate financial information.
Team-oriented & flexible, must be able to work closely with all levels of management.
Must work well under pressure and be good at meeting deadlines.
A pro-active nature to help embed process improvement and the ability to work closely with other functions are key attributes required for this role.
