Summary of Purpose:
The purpose of an Operating Experience (OE) station analyst is to serve as a key resource in identifying and evaluating industry events for their significance and relevance to nuclear safety. The analyst conducts initial reviews of event records—whether tentative, updated, or complete—to determine if they meet INPO reporting criteria. They collaborate with other OE department personnel to ensure consistent interpretation of guidance and may initiate further review if an event appears significant. Additionally, the station analyst maintains regular communication with OE coordinators to stay informed about station events and help detect adverse industry trends. This role is critical in ensuring that lessons learned from past events are effectively integrated into station practices to prevent recurrence.
