This role encompasses end-to-end engineering services for watercraft systems across multiple Department of Defense (DoD) and federal agency sponsors, supporting a variety of naval and mission-critical platforms from two strategically important coastal hubs.

• Contribute to initiatives in hull forms, propulsion, platform dynamics, hydrodynamics, and preliminary design of complex naval systems.
• Serve as technical lead for projects, supporting the development, sustainment, and mission-readiness of a wide range of watercraft and their associated systems (trailers, launch systems, transporters, cradles, and mission-specific modules).
• Interface directly with Navy program offices and other government stakeholders to gather requirements, provide briefings, and ensure that technical deliverables meet operational standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess engineering challenges and deliver innovative, actionable solutions that align with sponsor objectives.
• Oversee testing protocols, data collection, and analysis to verify performance standards.
• Provide mentoring, leadership, and guidance to engineering staff and junior personnel.
• Draft engineering reports, proposals, and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Active Secret Security Clearance (Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret (TS) Clearance)
• 15+ years of experience in engineering roles focused on watercraft or related U.S. naval systems, particularly within the context of DoD programs.
• 5+ years in a leadership role directly supporting U.S. Navy program offices.
• Expertise in both internal systems (propulsion, navigation, hull mechanics) and external mission-enabling systems (launch/retrieval, stowage, deployment modules).
• Strong knowledge of government contracting environments, naval architecture, and full lifecycle acquisition processes.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and technical presentation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
