Position Title:Senior Public Health Educator

Position Location: Silver Spring,Maryland

Daily Responsibilities:

• Plan for and develop a variety of evidenced-based tools and materials that meet the needs of the target audience that are educational or data-related in nature and may include but are not limited to, audio-visual, print, computer-aided, computer-based, or Web-based formats or applications.
• Support the design, creation, production, copying, distribution, creative or scientific writing services, accredited continuing education, language translation services, or adaptation of materials for special populations.
• Provide expertise and support for: Creative or scientific writing; Accredited continuing education; Language translations or adaptations of materials for special populations; Innovative educational or training materials; Training sessions/workshops conducted by contractor staff in person or online; Web sites, products, tools and applications for Internet, mobile devices, and/or social media; Exhibits or sessions at meetings of professional or consumer/advocacy organizations; Technical documentation of testing evidence-based products; Technical documentation of new evidence-based tools and materials; User guides for new evidence-based tools and materials
• Identify concepts for messages, materials, or tools through formative research that may include advice and recommendations from target audience members or organizations, primary research, secondary research analysis, or other appropriate means necessary to obtain necessary information
• Incorporate audience feedback, lessons learned, and assessment results into their work for quality improvement and to better meet target audience needs.

Required Years of Experience (min):

• 7 years MHS experience assessing needs.
• 5 years experience in assessing individual and population needs; developing, coordinating, implementing, or assessing health education programs or clinical practice guidelines.

Required Degree/Certifications:

• Masters Level Degree
• Certification as a Health Education Specialist
• Change Management Professional certification

Required Experience:

• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently to effectively communicate. Can enunciate with sufficient clarity to be readily understood.
• Sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that they can relate constructively to a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent time management and communication skills; able to work in a team environment and concurrently support several active projects.
• Proficient with office equipment (e.g., computers, multi-line telephone system, voicemail, facsimile, copier, printers), as well as business software for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and email communications. This includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Required Clearance:

• Security/Background Check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
