Nippon Light Metal Georgia, Inc. (NLM) is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our rapidly growing company located in Adairsville, Georgia. The Quality Assistant Manager is responsible for the oversight of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control department and staff. This will include developing, implementing and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products. The Quality Assistant Manager will also supervise and support QA/QC employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Balance Safety, Quality, Production, Cost and Morale to achieve positive results across departments.
Continuously learn, share and implement corrections or changes to encourage organizational improvements for the department and company.
Cooperate with department managers, supervisors and leads to monitor and document processes and procedures
Establish and communicate daily, weekly and monthly goals and objectives for QC Technicians.
Provide team-based trainings on specific quality assurance topics
Completes departmental performance measures and provides regular progress reports to manager.
Ensures effective employee relations including coaching and development.
Ensure all paperwork is accurate and completed in a timely manner, and that it complies with company and industry standards.
Establish and Maintain quality assurance manuals and procedures
Management of documents and records related to the Quality Management System
Approval for handling nonconforming materials including rework.
Management of inspection work including final and in-process inspector approvals, inspections and standard approvals.
Maintenance of measuring equipment including calibration and verification
Control samples related to inspections ensuring that proper documentation is provided to shift leaders and operators as needed.
Education for the entire organization related to any revisions to the Quality Assurance Manual
Become proficient in areas of safety and production policies and procedures including accident/injury reporting, blood-borne pathogens, confined spaces, emergency evacuation, hazard communication, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, Etc. as needed.

Education and Work Experience: Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position:
Engineering Degree or related coursework; or equivalent knowledge gained through experience
1-2 years of related experience and/or education is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Self-Motivator
Supervision, including employee hiring and retention, performance review and disciplinary actions.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to effectively communicate across departments, to leadership, and subordinates consistently in both written and verbal means of communication
Physical Requirements / Work Environment Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, use hands to manipulate, handle and feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must be able to speak and hear and must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to auto focus
The Employee will often enter the non-climate controlled plant or warehouse where temperatures can be extremely hot or cold depending on the weather.
